Why we have a Census?

The Census happens every ten years and is a survey of the whole population. The last Census of England and Wales was held on 21st March 2021.  It captures a breadth of information which can be used to help target resources more efficiently and inform policy-making.

The results of the 2021 Census are being released from June 2022 until 2023, and relevant information about Nottinghamshire will be updated as it is available. A brief summary of the population for Nottinghamshire and the districts is here.
